Los siguientes son ejemplos de referencias:

Referencia de un artículo de revista:

Sin embargo, la mayoría de las revistas médicas tienden a eliminar el mes y el número del año. De esta manera, la referencia anterior se escribirá de la siguiente forma:
• Vega KJ, Pina I, Krevsky B. Heart transplantation is associated with an increased risk for pancreatobiliary disease. Ann Intern Med 1996;124:980-3.

Cuando se trata de muchos autores se suelen poner los 6 primeros seguidos del término “et al.”
